About Me

Experience Summary

I have many years’ experience as an Industrial Engineer and Management Consultant applying Excel, Power Point, Word, Access and Visual Basic to analyze data and prepare Management Reports in areas such as Procurement, Inventories, Manufacturing, MRP, Standard Cost, Sales and Distribution. I have used VBA to build Macros and Applications, and Visual Web Developer to create simple web sites. One of my last projects was to use Excel Pivot Tables to analyze SAP queries. I am retired and my objective is to teach the use of computers at a personal and professional levels. At a personal, level my teaching centers on practical, day-to-day computer use. At a management level, I share my experience using computers to address business issues and to develop advanced applications of MS Office tools. Presently I am using MS Office 2010 and 2013, Windows 7 and 8.

Teaching Style

I found that personal tutoring in computer subjects is very effective because it concentrates only on the subjects that are important to the student, uses a PC or laptop specially set for him, proceeds at his own pace, has the teacher’s undivided attention and allows a flexible timetable. Learning about computers is a hand on experience.

My Hobbies

Rebuilding my 1964 VW Beetle. Reading. Bicycle riding. Classical music. Jogging.

Subject Commentary

I have many years’ experience using PCs and Windows. My knowledge centers on basic computer concepts, store and retrieve data, protect and use computers safely, fundamental Windows system functions, Windows apps, the internet to receive, store and send information. Also to develop solutions using MS Office: Excel, Access, Power Point, Word and Publisher.
Microsoft Access This is one of my top subjects!
There are many reasons to use Access. It is an effective tool to create and update databases to store and share information in a desktop or in a network. Learn to make tables, queries, forms, views and reports. Integrate Access' ability to store large amounts of data with Excel to create powerful analytical tools.
Microsoft Excel This is one of my top subjects!
Excel can be an important step to improve your professional development, advance your career, find a job and better manage your finances. Learn all aspects of Excel: cells, calculations, ranges, table, functions, charts, pivot tables and macros. Excel is a desktop application that allows multiple users to share information in a network and in the web.
Microsoft Office This is one of my top subjects!
Apply MS Office components to analyze management questions and present findings, conclusions and recommendations. Excel to make calculations and analyze data using cells, ranges, tables, functions, charts and pivot tables to report quantitate information. Access to store, organize data and create queries. Visual Basic to write macros and sub routines. Word to write business letters and reports with headers, footers, table of content, references, pictures, tables and shapes.Power Point to build personal presentations with attractive slides and sound to interact with audiences and self-run slides. Integrate Access, Excel, Power Point, Word and Visual Basic.
Microsoft PowerPoint
Make attractive, compelling and easy to understand presentations with Power Point. Its knowledge will improve your professional career and enhance your resume. Moreover, Power Point is easy to learn. Slides are the basic component of Power Point presentations. They can contain Text Boxes, Tables, Charts, Pictures, Shapes, Clip Art, Animations and Sounds. Make in person presentations with viewer’s participation or self-run slide shows.
Visual Basic is a complete, easy to use programming language. VB is structured around forms in which the programmer can visually include components such as buttons, combo boxes and list boxes. This components initiate actions which in many cases only require simple code. Visual basic Macros and Subroutines can be used within the context of applications such as Excel, Access or Word, This can greatly increase their functionality and simplify operations by automating actions.
